ELON MUSK'S SUPER CHARGER STATION DINER
- Tesla CEO Elon Musk has a new innovation brainstorm: a super charging station with a retro-style diner and drive-in movie theatre
- Here's what we know:
- Tesla just got permission from the city of LA to build a huge supercharging station in West Hollywood
- Besides charging EVs, it will house a 1950's-style diner with roof-top seating and a drive-in movie theatre playing 100 of the world's best movie clips
- Why not full-length movies rather than clips? because the superchargers can add 200-mile range to an EV in 15 minutes
- As we all know, Elon Musk does things big and this is not likely to be a standalone EV charging station in LA
- It's part of his plan to build a supercharging network both in the US and abroad
- Musk's dining-entertainment approach to charging stations is creative, while Tesla's competitors like Rivian and Mercedes are also building their own charging hubs to accommodate the world's growing use of electric cars.
- Musk wants to do for filling stations what Tesla has done for electric cars - create and own the market.
