WORLD'S FASTEST eVTOL
Source: Alauda
- The world's fastest eVTOL, Airspeeder MK-4, has just been unveiled by Alauda Aeronautics of south Australia
- The all-electric, vertical take-off and landing vehicle can hit speeds of 225 mph and will be used for flying car racing
- It accelerates from 0 to 225 mph in just 30 seconds
- The MK-4 is crewed and operated by a solo pilot
- It is powered by a 1,340 hp Thunderstruck Hydrogen Turbogenerator connected to electric motors on the wings
- Range on a charge is 180 miles
- Artificial intelligence (AI) flight controller adjusts the 4 rotor pairs, mounted on the vehicle, for optimized precision steering
- Extensive, crewed testing starts this quarter, Q1 2023
- Remote-control pilots successfully raced Airspeeder in October 2023
- Alauda is creating an eVTOL racing circuit with first crewed racing starting in 2024.
NASA's NEW, HI-TECH CC DEVICE
- NASA is deploying a highly advanced, mapping device to measure & map how dust is altering the Earth's climate & accelerating Climate Change
- 2 million tons of sand and dust are spewed into the atmosphere every year, including from dust storms, which have dramatically increased in recent years
- The device, called EMIT, is attached to the International Space Station and will provide scientists with billions of data points to use in their Climate Change forecasting
- Scientists believe that EMIT will have a revolutionary effect on Climate Change science and targeting remedies
- EMIT is a first-of-its-kind, space borne imaging spectrometer to map different types of dust through their color and to determine how and where the different minerals they contain are warming the planet
- Research into dust and sandstorms are critical because of their highly deleterious effects on human health, livestock, crops, transportation and livelihoods.
BUICK'S NEW WILDCAT CONCEPT
- Presented at the 2023 Chicago Auto Show, the new Buick Wildcat concept car showcases the new design direction that GM's Buick is taking as it moves into electrification
- The Wildcat coupe is all-electric and is all about style and design
- Some outstanding styling features include a wraparound windshield, very low and wide body and sloping roofline
- The interior is fashioned like a cockpit with futuristic screens
- In addition to a large horizontal display, a smaller screen is positioned on the long center console that extends to the rear seats
- No performance data has been disclosed on the powertrain
- The new Wildcat is a design showcase for where electrified Buicks are headed.
