Avinya for Innovation
India-based Tata, which owns JaguarLandRover, has just unveiled a stunning electric concept car, the Avinya. The car will go into production in 2025 and will be launched for sale globally. In Sanskrit, Avinya means innovation and it is certainly highly innovative in its minimalist design, next-G electric powertrain system and with the highly advanced AI and other "new age" technologies in the new car.
An EV Inspired by a Boat
The design of Avinya is inspired by a catamaran. The EV is smooth, sleek and classy. The vehicle combines the styling of a luxury SUV, a premium hatchback and a MPV (multipurpose vehicle that's large for families), all combined to create a brand-new look. The vehicle's groundbreaking design is a "new typology of mobility", according to Tata, that opens up significantly more interior space. There's a prominent front grill, LED lights that provide a signature on the front and back of the car and relatively small 18-inch wheels. The vehicle is long at 14.1 feet and is composed of lightweight materials to maximize its energy efficiency. There are butterfly doors and a sky dome to enhance the vehicle's spaciousness. Much of the vehicle's interior is composed of sustainable materials.
Lots of Highly Advanced Technologies
Avinya is an innovation show car for Tata. It is loaded with AI, software and new age technologies to deliver "tranquility and wellness" during the drive. It has a voice activated, dedicated sound system for passengers and an aroma diffuser for the perfect ambience.
Tech Specs
Aviya is built on the Pure EV GEN3 architecture which provides the capacity for a flexible design. It has a battery range of 310 miles on a charge and will be equipped with quick recharge capacity providing a full recharge in 30 minutes. The EV has advanced driver's assistance systems, next-G connectivity, enhanced performance and efficiency. In fact, the company says it is equipped for all types of terrain. According to Tata, the EV has high structural safety, the next level of water proofing and dust and dirt protection, allowing it to stray onto the road less travelled. Avinya promises innovation for the future of driving in 2025. Tata has not yet specified a price for Avinya but they do say that "it will be fairly accessible to a majority of customers".
